Are our digital lives taking over our real ones? There is no question about it. Our generation is hooked on social media and it doesn't look like it's changing anytime soon. Social media can be very beneficial in many ways. It can allow you to connect and associate with friends and family, share ideas with people, discover new information you didn't know, and much much more. However, there are some negative affects it can have on us. We can abuse it in many ways. It can cause narcassistic tendencies in teens and young adults. Studies have shown that the more people use social media, the bigger chance of them recieving depression and anxiety. Also, social medias like Facebook and Twitter can have a huge impact on learning.
There surely are several positive and negative sides to social media. It's a great influence on society, yet can break it in a way. The golden way to get through social media I feel is moderation. There is nothing wrong with social media, as long as you don't intake too much. Research on the psychological effects of social media will of course become an area of study that will inform future arenas, and social media will evolve in many ways.
