For my advertisement, I chose the Snuggie blanket to review. If you don't know what this is, it basically is a unisex body-length blanket with built in sleeves. It is made out of fleece material. It almost looks like an oversized bathrobe that you wear backwards. Their pitch is, "The blanket with sleeves!"
For their ad, or commercial, they start off by showing that regular blankets don't do their jobs. They also put down regular blankets and say they don't do their job. Then they finally introduce their product, the Snuggie, which gives people the power to do whatever they need to do, while still having the blanket on them. They even show examples of people wearing it and doing everyday things and not having any problems with it on.
Overall, I feel the commercial itself is very deceiving. It praises it so much and says nothing but great things. They say it's a great product that everyone will love. However, I feel they overexaggerate. I read some reviews online and many people say it is not all that. They praise the product a little more than they should. The ad is effective at first, but eventually people will begin to notice it's not. It is not an effective ad and will eventually get bad criticism in the end.
